Yes! I understand this too well. And with my eyes physically souring/dwindling, I look at covers on my shelves & dream into them without yet being able to open unto their pages.
Love this, Grant. Somewhere, well into my forties I'm afraid, I finally acknowledged that life is much too short to get through the always-growing list of all the books I "should" read, not to mention all those I really WANT to read—and gave myself permission to stop reading if I simply didn't want to keep going.
:) Yup, I recognize myself in this. But usually I'm coming back to the books and finish them if they worth it. Some I drop with no regret. But I do have a habit of starting numerous books in a short amount of time.

ReplyDeleteThe ending is so beautiful! Thanks Grant, for putting everything I've ever thought about an unfinished book in these panels!
